As Chancellor of the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) in the early 1980’s, Dr. David Macdonald Stewart championed our university and was devoted to our institution of higher learning. Dr. Stewart's intense concern for our Island and its university was of immense value as UPEI prepared to break ground for the only veterinary medicine school in Atlantic Canada. His legacy, and that of his wife, Liliane, lives on through their foundation's support to the important work of the L.M. Montgomery Institute at UPEI.
